Hepatocyte Use & Handling
Hepatocyte Warranty
These products have a finite lifespan in vitro with viability dependent on proper thawing and handling practices of the buyer.
Animals are tested by the supplier for serology and bacteriology, and are free of tumors and parasites. At time of isolation, cells are tested for viability prior to cryopreservation.
Initial Handling and Storage of Cryopreserved Hepatocytes
1. Remove the vial(s) from the shipping container and immediately transfer them to an appropriate storage freezer (-150°C). LN2 vapor-phase dewar is recommended. CAUTION: Allowing the vial(s) to warm up, even slightly, can cause irreparable damage to the hepatocytes.
2. If cryopreserved hepatocytes are to be used upon arrival, then refer to the Thawing/Plating Instructions.
