To meet the demand for timely and efficient screening of potential anti-angiogenesis therapies, we offer many options.
Angiogenesis Models
The corneal micropocket assay is a short-term examination of neovascularization and angiogenesis in a cornea. The newly vascularized area is quantified after three to five days of treatment.
Screens in angiogenic tumor cell lines in vitro and in vivo.
Metronomic dosing (Browder, 2000; Cancer Research 60:1787) uses long-term, low-level dosing of cytotoxics or other agents of interest to inhibit the growth and development of vascular endothelium while avoiding whole-animal toxicity. Following this same methodology, Piedmont Research Center can determine the metronomic dose of an agent and conduct the efficacy study. Studies can last up to 90 days.
